skills Escola Secundária de José Estêvão * Aveiro, Portugal

Dear friends: For the last two years our school has been undergoing a reflective process in the context of evaluation. The different departments have been involved in this work, trying to find common ground for discussion and criteria definition. This project meets our needs and worries concerning this subject at the momment. We have decided to choose the following items to work on: oral comprehension; attitudes and values - students' self-control. The choice of these two items was based on the fact that the language departments have always found it difficult to define objective criteria and instruments to assess these two areas. All the contribution is welcome.
All the best, Jose

Our team decided to evaluate the capacity of transfer (we will split this capacity in subskills) developed by science and the attitude towards studying science.
I want to inform you that Rodica and I went to Portugal and that we enjoyed it very much, Jose and the Portugese team were very kind and we learned a great deal about pedagogy and methodics. From my point of view the Portugese are at least one step in front of us Romanians in evaluation.
Best regards Olivia

Dear friends, aims of Mathematics as subject at secondary schools shown at the taxonomy of the aims of learning/ educational aims:
  1. general aims of the subject Mathematics (for examples: knowledge of how to do differential calculus)
  2. interdisciplinary aims, which means aims that extend across the disciplines (for example usage of differential calculus in National economics and Business Studies)
  3. general aims of learning/ educational aims (for example communicative competence; ability and motivation to participate in discussions)
These three main aims offer possibilities of how to be transferred into practice according the set curriculum of each nation. In order to do this on a common basis in the project, the next step would be that we have to find out common contents/ topics to be taught in the various national curricula. For this an analysis of the possibilities of transfer into practice in each of the nations is needed.
