Activity report – 3rd year

 

From September 2004 to June 2005 we have been developing two processes of different nature, though both related to the aims of the Project.

 

1-      School evaluation and Benchmarking

 

Benchmarking is the process of identifying, understanding and adapting the best practices from organisations anywhere in the world to help our organisation to improve its performance.

The organisations involved are the partner schools in the project, naturally, which have worked out together the areas to analyse, as well as the instruments to do so.

 

 

2-      School Internal Evaluation

 

As agreed on by the School Assembly, the school would benefit from a more thorough evaluation, which the team would be in charge of conducting until June 2005.

The team adopted the European Foundation for Quality Management as the reference model for all the work done in this area.

 

The project team developed the third year activities according to the following calendar:

 

September 2004

 

School evaluation and Benchmarking

-         studying of the Final Report 2004 produced by the Project coordinator;

-         first discussions about the Benchmarking concept;

-         preparation of the next Project Meeting.

 

School internal evaluation

        computer registering of data from previously applied questionnaires;

        creation of first graphics;

        data analysis;

        first drafts for final report.

 

 

October 2004

 

School evaluation and Benchmarking

- Project Meeting in Aveiro, during which the third year of activities was planned

 

School Internal Evaluation

- questionnaire to leadership organs;

- computer registering

- result analysis.

 

November/December 2004

School evaluation and Benchmarking

- translation of questionnaires from partner schools;

- questionnaires applied to students, parents and teachers as agreed on at the Project Meeting in October.

 

School internal evaluation

- preparation of new questionnaires.

 

 

January 2005

- computer registering of data;

- result analysis and discussion.

February 2005

- teachers’ exchange (1 teacher) to Prague

- teachers’ exchange (2 Hungarian teachers) to Aveiro

- questionnaires applied to teachers and aiding staff;

- data registering.

 

March 2005

- 2nd round of questionnaires applied, repeating the process from December;

- data analysis;

- report writing.

April 2005

- Final Project Meeting in Italy

May/June 2005
