Dear Colleagues, this is only for all coordinators of project!!!

 

            To make our project really European we should carry out some activities together. Here goes my proposal: although it deals with the mother tongue we shall call it The Evaluation of Ability of Pupils to Express Themselves.  At least 3 classes at each school will be to write an essay at the same time. The volume shall be max. two pages A4.

The task of the essay will be as follows:

“It is Saturday morning. The Sun is shining through my window pane, I have a half an hour for myself. Then I am going to have breakfast with my parents.

At the very moment I am thinking about all the beauties of the world around me.“

The pupils will be supposed to use as many expressions as possible to describe their positive emotions dealing with their mother tongue and life.

After 60 minutes they will underline all positive expressions red and all negative expressions blue.

These figures will be worked out statistically and graphically. I can arrange it for all.

Each couple of students will pick out the better essay then. They will hand it over to another couple and this way the best essay will be selected. Such procedure can remind us of so called atomic chain reaction which will end in finding 5 best essays at the school. The teacher will choose the best one. A teacher of English will translate it into English and the essay will be sent to all other schools involved in the project.

All essays chosen will be put on the chart board in each school and the students will choose the best one. This way we will have a chance to see the national specialities, differences between the nations and things we have in common. Such international evaluation can help us to obtain a lot of interesting pieces of information.

After 2 weeks we will repeat the procedure. But the task will be to express pupils‘negative attitudes and emotions. The  negative work can be homework. If you agree I will carry out the experiment at our school and I will let you know the results and complet  manual for you..

The output of the procedure will be described in national and international graphs.

It would be perfect if all schools could take part in this experiment. We will mention the results in The Teachers‘ Gazette.

I do not feel like contacting the teachers of National  language because this will cause evaluation of readiness and creativity.

 

But we can evaluate the national language teachers at the moment when we will show them my manual.

You can evaluate their creativity, suggestin, agree in  and  their negatives.

This is why you can not show this to your national language teachers.

 

So, what is your point of view? It looks sort of strange at the first sight, but it seems better then cheese evaluatin, isn´t it?
