The History of the School
Nicolae Popoviciu Bishop, a very educated man, a school and youth lover, having the belief that woman has the most important role in the nation’s life, in 1938 he starts the building of an orthodox boarding for girls. In 1939, the building was finished and equipped with all the necessary things.
The building had that function by 1949 when, as a result of the reform in schools, The Orthodox Boarding for Girls was transformed in a Sanitary School and it functioned like that till 1952, year in which it became an orphanage, by removing the one from Marghita.
The Orphanage had functioned here since 1962, when the council of Beius County took the place. In 1968, thanks to the Romanian Administrative-Territorial Law, the building was transformed into the General School of Beius. It was opened on the 1st of September 1968.
