Working
on the project :
The work on the propject started during the
first project meeting in Hungary ,
in November 2002. There we had possibility to introduce personally in the group
and after discussion we agreed on the strategy and purposes of the project,
which goals are to create of methods, standards and instruments of evaluation
system. This system could be identical for countries of EU.
1] itroduction of evaluation systems at schools, translations of materials from Olivia Jidveian,
2] every country presents system of education on web pages,
3] we created calendar for exchange programme / study visits for teachers in individual countries, project meetings and we are considering about exchanges for students too,
4] we decided that the work on the evaluation systém passes through these subjects:
- foreign language,
- internal evaluation our school (from teachers),
- „ethos“ / climate of our school (from students),
5] we will work on the common evaluation systém and then we will compare attitudes, values and skills of students in representative subjects,
6] we created two work groups {in accordance with subjects} and every group should choose one value, attitude and skill. For each this parameter we chose the best method for research, timetable, measuring and amount of students.
7] next year every school will carry out this qualitative research, which will be base for future
cooperation.
8] in every school there is place for presentation of project SOCRATES {shoe case, wall poster}, where information about meetings in partner schools, about exchanges teachers, about work on the project and interests from each country
9] there is continous communication between the participatints {mostly by e-mail}
In our school there was a meeting with our teachers about programme SOCRATES-COMENIUS in February 2003. There were 9 teachers for general subjects and professional subjects too. Teachers were informed about this project and about goals in evaluation. They had possibility to see some materials about technique of evaluation and some teachers can translate other interesting material from English. The discussion was about preparing programme for exchanging teachers from Greece and Hungary. In March many of our teachers were included in these teachers exchange programmes and good relationship developed. {sightseeing in historical part of Prague, trip to Vsetin, sports activities – skiing, bowling, dinners in typical Czech restaurants and in houses of teachers too, cultural evening with folclore, etc.} The contribution from activities is that many teachers revived knowledge of English language and some of them started to learn English.
In fact a big contribution for our school in this project is meeting and knowledge about foreign countries, cultures, customs, education systems and ways of teaching in schools. For everybody, this project extends horizons of knowledge, language skills and opportunity to create new friendly relations.
It is a real pleasure to start this project and to work with our partners going on with this so interesting topic. We have to say many thanks to Olivia Jidveian for coordination our nice group and intersting work. Thanks again for many materials about evaluation.
