The 60 years anniversary of the school took place on the 23^rd of October 1999.

As a sign of gratitude and appreciation of the merits of this orthodox bishop in raising the spirituality of the inhabitants of Beius, to this school was given the name <Scoala cu clasele I-VIII "NICOLAE POPOVICIU">.

In the cultural-artistic manifestations due to this event participated: IPS Ioan Mihaltan, the Orthodox Bishop of Oradea, representatives of the School Inspector of Bihor County, local officials, representatives of the schools fraternized with ours in Komlo (Hungary), former teachers and pupils teachers and primary school teachers and parents.

On the occasion a memorial board was uncovered.
